Spring
Fluffy clouds of blossoms and cheery daffodil trumpets: the transition from Winter to Spring is a moment of pure, light-hearted hope and joy.
The creams and pinks on the branches and the many shades of white and yellow narcissi are soon joined by the triumph of colour of the tulips. Finally blooming after being planted as bulbs in the colder months, the tulips will accompany us from March to June and will offer plenty of variety, not only of shade, but shape and size too.
As the weather keeps warming up, a new moment of ethereal white takes over the hedgerows: an explosion of cow parsley, echoed in its frothy magic by trees and shrubs of hawthorn and spirea.
Spring's last precious gift are the peonies, in all their decadent glory – as soon as their miriad of petals start unfurling and their sweet scent fills in the air, that's when we know Summer is fast upon us.
