Hedgerow awakening
at Apricity
January: nature’s time to rest and recharge. The once lush green trees have shed their leafy coats, and now their branches, adorned with buds, catkins and cones, draw winding lines in the pale winter sky. It’s a simpler, quieter picture, although elegant and even intricate in its own way.
Within the hushed beauty of winter’s scarcity, the first few minute blooms begin to stir from the still, cold ground, calling to the sleepy pollinators with their heavenly scent.
We brought this gentle winter scene to the table with narcissi and dainty snowdrops emerging from soft, dewy moss beds through nests of honeysuckle and hazel twigs.
